This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Active was a fifth rate, 38-gun, ship.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, launched 14-Dec-1799, 150ft long, 41ft wide and of 1,058 tons builders measurement.

Used for harbour service from Feb-1826.

Renamed HMS Argo, 15-Nov-1833.

Broken up Oct-1860 at Plymouth.

Won the Battle Honours: Egypt 1801, Lissa 1811 and Pelagosa 1811.
