This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Fowey was a sixth rate, 24-gun, ship.

Built by Janvrin of Lepe, launched 04-Jul-1749, 113ft 6in long, 32ft wide and of 513 tons builders measurement.

Sunk 10-Oct-1781 in action against the French at Chesapeake Bay.

Won the Battle Honour: Quebec 1759.
