This the third ship to carry the name HMS Shannon was a fifth rate, 36-gun, ship.

Built by Brindley of Frindsbury, launched 02-Sep-1803, 137ft long, 38ft wide and of 871 tons builders measurement.

Ran ashore in a gale 10-Dec-1803, near La Hogue, and burned to avoid capture.
