This the first ship to carry the name HMS Shannon was a sixth rate, 28-gun, ship.

Built at Deptford Dockyard, launched 13-Aug-1757, 118ft 6in long, 33ft 6in wide and of 587 tons builders measurement.

Broken up at Portsmouth 30-Dec-1765.

Won the battle Honours: Louisburg 1758 and Lagos 1759.
