HMS Penelope (1829) (4th)

This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Penelope was a
fifth rate, 46-gun, ship. The frames were originally laid down at Portsmouth Dockyard, but were transported to Chatham and re-laid Nov-1827. Construction was completed at Chatham Dockyard, launched 13-Aug-1829, 150ft long, 40ft 6in wide and of 1,091 tons builders measurement. Conversion to a paddle frigate was completed Jun-1843, of 1,616 tons builders measurement. Sold 15-Jul- 1864. Won the Battle Honour: Baltic 1854.
