This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Lapwing was a 4-gun, wooden screw gunvessel.

Built at Devonport Dockyard, launched 08-Nov-1867, 170ft long, 29ft wide, of 663 tons builders measurement, and displacing 774 tons. Armed with 1 x 7in, 2 x 40pdr and 1 x 20pdr guns.

Sold 15-Apr-1885.
