This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Defiance was a third rate, 64-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, launched 1675, 144ft long, 38ft wide and of 898 tons builders measurement.

Rebuilt at Woolwich 1695.

Re-rated as a 4th rate, 1710.

Hulked 1743.

Broken up at Chatham Jun-1749.

Won the Battle Honours: Barfleur 1692.
