This the second ship to carry the name HMS Defiance was a 46-gun galleon.

Built at Deptford, launched 1590, of 500 tons builders measurement (bm). Armed with 14 x 18pdr, 14 x 9pdr, 6 x 6pdr and 14 light guns.

Rebuilt at Woolwich 1614 as 700 tons bm, with 34-guns.

Sold 1650.
