This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Calcutta was a trials gunboat.

Originally HMS Handy, built by Armstrong, launched 30-Dec-1882, 115ft long, 37ft wide, displacing 508 tons.

Renamed HMS Excellent May-1891.

Renamed again as HMS Calcutta 01-Nov-1916.

Renamed yet again Aug-1917 as HMS Snapper.

Sold 27-Apr-1922.
