This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Brilliant was a fifth rate, 36-gun, ship.

Built by Langley of Deptford, launched 28-Dec-1814, 146ft long, 38ft 6in wide and of 954 tons builders measurement.

Reduced to 22-guns, 1843.

Used as an RNR training ship from 1859.

Renamed HMS Briton 08-Nov-1889

Sold 12-May-1908 to the Forth Ship Breaking Co of Bo'ness.
