This the seventh ship to carry the name HMS Brilliant was one
of fourteen Type 22 (1979) Broadsword Class Frigates. Built by Yarrow Ltd, launched 15-Dec-1978, commissioned 15-May-1981. Sold to the Brazilian Navy 30-Apr-1997 and renamed BNS Dodsworth. Won the Battle Honours: Falkland Islands 1982 and Kuwait 1991.
