HMS Belleisle (1795)  (2nd)

This the second ship to carry the name HMS Belleisle was originally the French ship Formidable, captured 23-Jun-1795 and renamed.

A third rate, 74-gun ship-of-the-line184ft long, 49ft wide and of 1,889 tons builders measurement.

Fought at the Battle of Trafalgar where she was badly damaged with 33 of her crew killed and 93 wounded. (see: Fleets after the Battle).

Broken up Aug-1814.

Won the Battle Honours: Trafalgar 1805 and  Martinique 1809.
