This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Avon was a River Class frigate.

Launched 19-Jun-1943.

Handed over to the Portuguese Navy May-1949 and renamed Nuno Tristao.

Broken up 12-Jan-1970.

Won the Battle Honours: Atlantic 1943-44 and Okinawa 1945.
