This the first ship to carry the name HMS Worcester was a 48 gun, ship.

Built at Woolwich Dockyard, launched 1651, 141ft 6in long, 33ft 6in wide and of 662 tons builders measurement.

Renamed HMS Dunkirk 1660.

Won the Battle Honours: Dover 1652, Portland 1653, Gabbard 1653, Scheveningen 1653, Porto Farina 1655 and Santa Cruz 1657.
