This the first ship to carry the name HMS Ulysses was a fifth rate, 44-gun, ship.

Built by Fisher of Liverpool, launched 14-Jul-1779, 140ft long, 38ft wide and of 887 tons builders measurement.

Used as a troopship from Jun-1790.

Sold 11-Jan-1816.

Won the Battle Honours: Martinique 1784, Egypt 1801 and Martinique 1809.
