This the second ship to carry the name HMS Resistance was a fifth rate 36-gun ship.

Built by Parsons of Bursledon, launched 29-Apr-1801, 145ft long, 38ft wide and of 963 tons builders measurement.

Wrecked 31-May-1803 off Cape St Vincent.
