This the first ship to carry the name HMS Ranger was a sixth rate, 24-gun, ship.

Originally a French privateer (Deux Couronnes), 123ft long, 34fy 6in wide and of 639 tons builders measurement. Armed with 24 x 9pdr guns.

Captured by HMS Gloucester, in the English Channel, 05-May-1747.

Fate unknown.
