This the third ship to carry the name HMS Irresistible was a second rate, 80-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, launched 27-Oct-1859, 190ft long, 57ft wide, of 2,589 tons builders measurement, and displacing 3,842 tons.

Used for harbour service from Sep-1868.

Sold at Bermuda 1894.
