This the fourth ship to carry the name HMS Hardy was an
Albacore class, wooden screw gunboat. Built by Hill of Bristol, laid down 19-Oct-1855, launched 01-Mar-1856 and completed 10-Nov-1859. Took part in the Royal Fleet Review 1856. Sold 09-Feb-1869 at Hong Kong. Won the Battle Honour: China 1860.
