2nd Rate 90-gun

    
This the second ship to carry the name HMS Formidable was a second rate, 90-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, launched 20-Aug-1777, 178ft long, 50ft wide and of 1,945 tons builders measurement.

Re-rated as a third rate, 74-gun ship-of-the-line, 1813.

Broken up at Chatham Sep-1813.

Won the Battle Honour: The Saints 1782.
