HMS Dundee (1933) SL  (2nd)

    
This the second ship to carry the name HMS Dundee was a Falmouth Class (1932), sloop

Built by Hawthorn Leslie, laid down 01-Dec-1931, launched 20-Sep-1932 and commissioned 31-Mar-1933.

On completion went to the America and West Indies Station. Remaining there until the outbreak of WW2, except for a short spell in the UK in 1935 and from Mar-1938 to Jul 1938 when she refitted at Portsmouth.

Carried out patrol work from Sep-1939 to Jul-1940 then went to Bermuda for refit Aug to Sep-1940.

After refitting she joined convoy SC3 at Sydney CB which sailed 02-Sep-1940. Torpedoed and sunk by U-48 on 14-Sep-1940.

Won the Battle Honour: Atlantic 1940.
