This the second ship to carry the name HMS Danae was a fifth rate, 32-gun, ship.

Originally French, captured when stranded and abandoned near St Malo, 13-May-1779. 129ft 6in long, 35ft wide and of 689 tons builders measurement.

Sold Oct-1797.
