This the eighth ship to carry the name HMS Contest was a
torpedo boat
destroyer. Built by Laird of Birkenhead, laid down 01-Mar-1894, launched 01-Dec-1894, and completed Jul-1895. Remained in the UK for her entire service. Sold 11-Jul-1911.
