This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Contest was a 12-gun, brig.

Built by White of Cowes, launched 11-Apr-1846, 109ft long, 32ft wide and of 459 tons builders measurement.

Breaking up completed by 09-Sep-1868 at Portsmouth.

Won the Battle Honour: Burma 1852-53.
