This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Chichester was a fourth rate, 52-gun, ship.

Built at Woolwich Dockyard, laid down Jul-1827, launched 12-Jul-1843 and completed 23-Feb-1844.

After launch went into ordinary (reserve) at Chatham 1843 and was completed there.

Loaned as a training ship 1866 to National Refuge Society at Greenhithe.

Sold May-1889 for breaking up..
