This the first ship to carry the name HMS Chichester was a second rate, 80-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, launched 06-Mar-1696, 157ft 6in long, 42ft wide and of 1,210 tons builders measurement.

Rebuilt Woolwich 1706.

Broken up at Plymouth by 03-Sep-1749
