This the third ship to carry the name HMS Chester was a fourth rate, 50-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built by Wells & Bronsdon of Deptford, launched 18-Feb-1743, 140ft long, 40ft 6in wide and of 977 tons builders measurement.

Sold 28-Jul-1767.
