This the first ship to carry the name HMS Berwick was a third rate, 70-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, launched 1679, 151ft long, 40ft wide and of 1,041 tons builders measurement (bm).

Rebuilt 1700 as 1,090 tons bm.

Hulked Oct-1715.

Broken up 1742.

Won the Battle Honours: Barfleur 1692, Vigo 1702, Gibraltar 1704 and Velez Malaga 1704.
