This the second ship to carry the name HMS Ajax was a 3rd rate, 74-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built by Randall of Rotherhithe, launched 03-Mar-1798, 183ft long, 49ft 6in wide and of 1,953 tons builders measurement.

Fought at Trafalgar where she sustained light damage, with 2 killed and 2 wounded of her crew. (see: Fleets after the Battle).

Burned by accident 11-Feb-1807 off Tenedos.

Won the Battle Honours: Egypt 1801 and Trafalgar 1805.
