HMS Africa (1859) (5th)

This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Africa, was prison ship. Originally HMS Euryalus, a fifth rate, 36-gun ship. Built by Adams of Bucklers Hard, 145ft long, 38ft wide and of 946 tons builders measurement. Used as a prison ship from 1826. Renamed HMS Africa 1859. Sold 16-Aug-1860.
