This the ninth ship to carry the name HMS Adventure was originally HMS Resolute, an Iron Screw Storeship.

Built by Laird, bought on the stocks 16-Jan-1855, launched 19-Feb-1855, 283ft long, 36ft 6in wide and displacing 1,793 tons.

Renamed HMS Adventure 16-Feb-1857 and used as a troopship.

Broken up at Chatham 1877.

Won the Battle Honour: China 1856-60.
