Porpoise Class (1958) SSK

The Porpoise Class (1958) was the first completely post WW2 design to enter service.

They were designed as an overseas patrol/attack submarine. Had a high underwater speed, deep diving and were very quiet.

They were the first major class of submarines to be built for the Royal Navy after WW2.

The last operational boat HMS Sealion was decommissioned in 1987.
