Cormorant Class (1862) |

| The
nine ships of the Cormorant class were wooden first class gunvessels. They were ordered in two batches, the first six on 14-Jun-1859 and the final seven on 05-Mar-1860. However four of the last batch were cancelled before being completed and the other three had construction suspended and later resumed. Sylvia and Nassau were used as survey ships.
