This the second ship to carry the name HMS Wellington was originally HMS Hero, a third rate, 74-gun ship-of-the-line.

Built at Deptford Dockyard, launched 21-Sep-1816, 176ft long, 48ft 6in wide and of 1,756 tons builders measurement.

Renamed HMS Wellington 04-Dec-1816.

Renamed the training ship HMS Akbar 10-May-1862.

Sold 1908 and arrived at Morecombe 08-Apr-1908 for breaking up.
