HMS Warspite (1876)  (5th)

This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Warspite was originally HMS Waterloo a first rate, 120-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, launched 10-Jun-1833, 218ft long, 55ft wide, and of 2,694 tons builders measurement (bm).

Conversion to a screw ship completed 12-Nov-1859, with increased tonnage of 2,845 tons bm..

Renamed HMS Conqueror 27-Feb-1862,

Renamed HMS Warspite, 11-Aug-1876, and used as training ship for the Marine Society.

Burnt by accident, 20-Jan-1918 on the Thames.
