HMS Vindex (1943) CVE  (2nd)

    
This the second ship to carry the name HMS Vindex was a British built,  escort aircraft carrier.

Built by Swan Hunter, launched 04-May-1943, 499ft 6in long, 68ft 6in wide and displacing 13,455 tons. Armed with 2 x 4in guns and carried 15 aircraft.

Sold 02-Oct-1947 after re-conversion to a merchant ship as the Port Vindex.

Won the Battle Honours: Atlantic 1944 and Arctic 1944-45.
