This the first ship to carry the name HMS Victory was a 42-gun ship
of 565 tons builders measurement.
Originally the Great Christopher, bought 1560 and renamed Victory. Rebuilt 1586, with her armament changed to 12 x 18pdrs, 18 x 9pdrs 9 x 6pdrs plus 20 other smaller guns. Broken up 1608. Won the Battle Honour: Armada 1588.
