HMS Talent (1945) SS  (1st)

This the first HMS Talent was a Triton Class submarine. Originally laid down as HMS Tasman and renamed Apr-1945.

Built by Vickers Armstrong of Barrow-in-Furness, launched 13-Feb 1945.

Underwent a major modernisation, rebuild and streamlining in the 1950's to increase underwater speed and endurance.

Appeared at the Coronation Review 1953.

Sold 06-Jan-1970 and broken up at Troon 28-Feb-1970.

(The original HMS Talent was sold to the Royal Netherlands Navy before launch. The name was then allocated to a later T Class submarine, which was cancelled. The name was then passed to another T Class boat HMS Tasman, which was being fitted out, and renamed Talent.)
