HMS Swiftsure (1573) (1st)

This the first ship to carry the name HMS Swiftsure was a Galleon
of 41-guns.
Built at Deptford 1573, and of 360 tons builders measurement. She was armed with 2 x 60pdr, 5 x 18pdr, 12 x 9pdr, 8 x 6pdr, and 14 smaller guns. Rebuilt 1592 as 416 tons builders measurement. Renamed Speedwell in 1607, with 40 guns. Lost Nov-1624 near Flushing. Won the Battle Honour: Armada 1588 and Cadiz 1596.
