Hospital Ship

    
This the third ship to carry the name HMS Sussex was a hospital ship.

Originally HMS Union, a second rate 90-gun, ship-of-the-line. Built at Chatham Dockyard, launched 25-Sep-1756, 171ft long, 48ft 6in wide and of 1,781 tons builders measurement.

Used as a hospital ship from 1799.

Renamed HMS Sussex 06-Feb-1802.

Broken up Oct-1816 at Chatham.
