HMS Severn (1887) CC  (6th)

    
This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Severn was a 2nd Class Protected Cruiser.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, laid down 01-Jan-1884, launched 29-Sep-1885, and completed 1888.

Preparation for operational service took from 1888-89, and went to the China Station 1889-95.

Returned to the UK and put into reserve at Chatham 1895-98.

Used as Coast Guard at Harwich 1898-1904.

Returned to Chatham 1904-05.

Sold 1905.
