HMS Princess Royal (1728)  (1st)

This the first ship to carry the name HMS Princess Royal was originally HMS Ossory, a second rate, three deck, 90/82-gun ship-of-the-line.

Built at Portsmouth Dockyard, launched 1682, 161ft long, 44ft 6in wide, and of 1,307 tons builders measurement.

She was renamed HMS Prince (1705). Rebuilt at Chatham 1707. Renamed again 02-Jan-1716 as HMS Princess. Renamed a last time in 1728 as HMS Princess Royal.

Broken up 1773.
