This the sixth ship to carry the name HMS Porpoise was a
1-gun, mortar vessel. Built by Thompson, launched 26-May-1855, 65ft long, 21ft wide, of 117 tons builders measurement and armed with 1 x 13in mortar. Renamed MV.8 19-Oct-1855. Hulked Jul-1866. Sold 25-Jun-1885. Won the Battle Honour: Baltic 1855.
