HMS Paladin (1941) DD  (2nd)

    
This the second ship to carry the name HMS Paladin was a P Class, destroyer.

Built by John Brown on the Clyde, laid down 22-Jul-1940, launched 11-Jun-1941, and commissioned 12-Dec-1941.

On commissioning went to the Eastern Fleet for operations against Madagascar. Then to the Mediterranean for Malta convoy escort duty.

Jul-1943 took part in operations for the Sicily invasion.

1944 to the Eastern Fleet in the Indian Ocean for carrier strikes and strikes against Japanese forces on the coasts of Burma and Malaya until the end of the war.

Converted 1956 to a Type 16 frigate displacing 1,800 tons.

Arrived at Dunston 25-Oct-1962 for breaking up.

Won the Battle Honours: Diego Suarez 1942, Mediterranean 1943, Sicily 1943, East Indies 1944 and Burma 1944-45.
