This the seventh ship to carry the name HMS Mermaid was a fifth rate, 32-gun, ship.

Originally laid down at Woolwich and transferred to Sheerness Dockyard Mar-1782 where she was completed. Launched 29-Nov-1784, 126 ft long, 35ft 6in wide and of 693 tons builders measurement.

Broken up Nov-1815.
