This the first ship to carry the name HMS Latona was a fifth rate, 38-gun, ship.

Built by Graves of Limehouse, launched 13-Mar-1781, 141ft 6in long, 39ft wide and of 944 tons builders measurement. Used for harbour service from 1813.

Sold 02-May-1816.

Won the Battle Honours: Dogger Bank 1781, First of June 1794 and Curacoa 1807.
