This the first ship to carry the name HMS Kingston was a fourth rate, 60-gun, ship-of-the-line.

Built by Frame of Hull, launched 13-Mar-1697, 145ft long, 40ft wide and of 924 tons builders measurement (bm). Armed with 24 x 24pdr, 26 x 9pdr and 10 x 6pdr guns.

Rebuilt at Portsmouth 1719.

Rebuilt at Plymouth, 1740 as 1, 068 tons bm.

Sold 14-Jan-1762.

Won the Battle Honours: Gibraltar 1704, Velez Malaga 1704, Louisburg 1758 and Quiberon Bay 1759.
