This the second ship to carry the name HMS Iphigenia was a fifth rate, 38-gun, ship.

Originally Spanish, the Medea, captured 05-Oct-1804 in the Atlantic, while at peace with Spain, and renamed HMS Iphigenia. 147ft long, 40ft wide and of 1,046 tons builders measurement.

Armed with 14 x 32pdr carronades, 28 x 12pdr and 2 x 9pdr guns.

Renamed HMS Imperieuse 1805.

Used for harbour service from May-1818.

Sold 10-Sep-1838.
