HMS Hero (1888) BB  (5th)

    
This the fifth ship to carry the name HMS Hero was one of two Conqueror Class battleships.

Built at Chatham Dockyard, laid down Apr-1884, launched 27-Oct-1885 and completed May-1888.

On completion she was used as a gunnery training ship at Portsmouth, which continued until 1905. After this she went into Reserve.

Finally used as a target ship Nov-1907, sunk 18-Feb-1908, raised and broken up.
