HMS Havelock (1940) DD  (3rd)

    
This the third ship to carry the name HMS Havelock was an H Class (1940) destroyer.

Built by White, for the Brazilian Navy (Jutahy), laid down 31-May-1938, bought 04-Sep-1939, launched 16-Oct-1939, and commissioned 10-Feb-1940.

1940 took part in Norwegian operations.

Sank the Italian submarine Faa di Bruno, Nov-1940. Then from 1941 went the the North Atlantic for escort duties.

During the war assisted in sinking U-767 and U-242.

Arrived for breaking up 3-Oct-1946.

Won the Battle Honours: Norway 1940, Atlantic 1940-45, Biscay 1943, English Channel 1944 and Normandy 1944.
